Man arrested for blocking Ajay Devgn’s car over his tweet on farmers’ protest released on bail

The Farmers’ protest in India has been making headlines for a long time now. From protests on the streets to the backlash on social media, we have seen it all in the process. Bollywood celebrities like Diljit Dosanjh, Richa Chadha, Taapsee Pannu and many more have shown their support for the farmers’ protest. Yesterday a man stopped Ajay Devgn’s car right in the middle of Mumbai street and accused him of being against Punjab.

According to the reports, Ajay was said to be on his way to the shoot of Gangubai Kathiawadi when his car was blocked by a Sikh man. In the viral video, the man was heard saying in Punjabi, “This man is against Punjab. Punjab has given him food. How is he able to digest his food? How can you be against Punjab? You should be ashamed. You have been wearing turbans in movies with so much pride? Why aren’t you ashamed? Are you going to run me over? Why can’t he come out of the car and talk?”

The Sikh man, identified as Rajdeep Ramesh Singh, was arrested by Mumbai Police under sections 504 and 506 (ii) of IPC. But, he was later released on bail according to a report by ANI. Yesterday when the incident took place, Ajay’s bodyguards had tried to make the man move out of the way but he did not budge.

Earlier, American singer Rihanna had made headlines when she tweeted an article about the farmers’ protest and wrote, “Why aren’t we talking about this?” Later, Diljit had posted a song as a dedication to Rihanna and her support to the protesting farmers.
