Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is the master of the box office and he has proved this once again with the release of his war drama ‘Kesari’. The Karan Johar production, based on the Battle Of Saragarhi is a true story where 21 Sikh soldiers fought against 10,000 Afghans in 1897.

Recently, the Khiladi took to social media and shared a behind the scenes video from the sets of the film. In the video, he opened up on what happened when the entire set burned down to ashes.

In the video, Akshay Kumar spoke in detail about how the fire engulfed the entire set. Just when they were thinking of shooting for an important part of the film, the whole thing turned to dust within minutes. Director Anurag Singh too revealed that he was shattered as they still had 10 to 15 days of shoot pending. But all thanks to Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar who gave their full support during this trying phase and they managed to wrap the movie.

Akshay praised the director and gave full marks to the team for creating an alternative plan. The different teams (including the production designers and VFX department) went on to recreate the set in Mumbai through set extension and visual effects.

Kesari‘ has made a solid Rs 78.07 crore at the box office and has become the highest opening weekend earner of 2019. The period drama narrates the story of Havildar Ishar Singh and his band of 21 Sikh soldiers who fought 10, 000 Afghan soldiers.
