Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar left for a heavenly abode on February 6th at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Sunday of multi-organ failure. She was 92. The singer was laid to rest with full state honours on Sunday in the presence of her family at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.

Earlier today, Amitabh Bachchan shared a throwback video on his social media handle and remembered the legendary singer. In the video, Big B was seen introducing Lata Mangeshkar at an event and it will surely get you emotional.

Sharing the video, the Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham actor captioned it as: “She has left us .. the voice of a million centuries has left us .. she resounds now in the heavens .. ??????”

Yesterday, Amitabh along with daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda, visited Mangeshkar’s house to pay condolences to the singer’s family. To note, Amitabh Bachchan had been a part of many duet songs that were sung by Lata Mangeshkar, wich include- Jane Kaise Kab Kahan from the film Shakti, Dekha Ek Khwaab from Silsila, and others.

Meanwhile, Lata Mangeshkar’s last rites were attended by several dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The film fraternity turned out to pay their respects, among them actor Shah Rukh Khan, Vidya Balan, hankar Mahadevan, Javed Akhtar,Shraddha Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Aamir Khan, along with daughter Ira Khan.

Lata was known as the ‘Nightingale of India,’ and was regarded as one of Indian cinema’s greatest playback singers. The legendary singer started her career in her teenage years in 1942 and has sung over 25,000 songs in various Indian languages. . She was the oldest of the siblings, Meena Khadikar, Asha Bhosle, Usha Mangeshkar and Hridaynath Mangeshkar.
