Anjana Sukhani Calls Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Returns A ‘Pure Picnic’
When asked about what filming Rohit Shetty’s film like Golmaal was like, Anjana Sukhani said, “I feel Rohit Shetty said it is a pure picnic. It’s pure picnic because he makes films for mass audiences, and he believes in making people laugh. He wants lighter moments in his films, and everybody enjoys that. So, I remember we were shooting the Golmaal Returns title track in Thailand, I think, and all of us were there— Ajay, Kareena, Arshad, me, Tusshar, Shreyas, everyone.”
She continued, “We were like, ‘Achha, kaun ready hai? Kaun-kaun ready ho gaya hai?’ So he said, ‘Achha, oh, that one’s ready. Usko bula lo. It’s okay.’ So it was not like, you know, a pattern to follow, ki we have to first shoot this, then shoot this, and then shoot that. Nahi, jo ready hai usko bhejo. Neeche gaana shoot kar rahe hain hum log. So come at your own pace, kaam karo, dance karo aur jao. Literally, Golmaal has always been a picnic for me.”
Anjana On Ajay Devgn
Speaking about Ajay Devgn as a co-star, the actress revealed, “He is a prankster. He is a very serious prankster. I remember when we were shooting that Nana-Nani scene, they would make me laugh so much, and I had to stay quiet, okay? Shreyas and Ajay would genuinely force me to laugh, and I was laughing in the scene, but I wasn’t supposed to laugh in the scene. Rohit was like, ‘Listen, if you don’t stop laughing, I’m going to cut this scene out.’ So it’s like, ‘Yeh hansa rahe hain, main kya karun?’ But no, I have wonderful memories of Golmaal as well.”
