Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is quite vocal about his political views. The director has fiercely protested against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and even openly criticised the Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP).

The ‘Manmarziyaan’ director recently pointed out that his Twitter followers have drastically reduced after he shared his views on CAA. Anurag even shared a screenshot of his current followers.

Anurag tagged the official handle of Twitter India and wrote, “And @TwitterIndia has drastically reduced my followers”

Apparently, the filmmaker’s followers count was reduced from five million to 76.3k. Soon fans expressed their shock over how much followers Kashyap has lost suddenly. One of the users even shared a screenshot of Kashyap’s previous followers count.

The ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ director is amongst those celebs who doesn’t refrain from criticising the ruling party and its member. Kashyap recently had taken a sabbatical from the Twitter after trolls threatened to harm his daughter.

However, he came back recently to participate in the protest against CAA. “This has gone too far.. can’t stay silent any longer. This government is clearly fascist .. and it makes me angry to see voices that can actually make a difference stay quiet,” wrote the director upon his return to Twitter.

Alongwith Kashyap, several other Bollywood celebs such as Varun Grover, Richa Chadha, Sayani Gupta, Vikramaditya Motwane have come out in support of the protest against CAA.
