On Wednesday, Alia Bhatt attended the inaugural event at the Bharat Pavilion as part of the Indian delegation celebrating the country’s cinematic achievements at the Cannes Film Festival. She joined filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker to unveil the poster and creative vision for the 57th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

For the event, her ivory ensemble featured delicate embroidery and a structured corset blouse. The drape subtly combined the fluidity of a saree with the silhouette of a Victorian-inspired gown. She completed the look with a small bindi, a nose ring, and dainty earrings. Styled with a parasol designed by Tarun Tahiliani, the look blended Indian aesthetics with modern couture elements.

Soon after, several pictures and videos from the outing surfaced online. However, one clip particularly caught the internet’s attention. The video showed the actress surrounded by fans and photographers as the crowd quickly became chaotic.

Initially, the Jigra actress stopped to greet fans and posed for selfies. However, as more people gathered around her, the situation appeared increasingly overwhelming. In the clip, Alia is seen trying to move through the crowd while security personnel attempt to control the situation.

At one point, she is heard saying, “Ho gaya abhi? (Is it done now),” seemingly expressing frustration amid the commotion. Meanwhile, members of her security team repeatedly asked the crowd to calm down, saying, “Relax, relax.”

Despite the chaotic moment, Alia’s appearance at the Bharat Pavilion continued to receive praise for its understated elegance. Unlike the dramatic silhouettes often seen on international red carpets, she chose a softer and culturally rooted look for her third Cannes outing.

This marks Alia’s second consecutive appearance at Cannes as a global ambassador for L’Oréal Paris. The prestigious festival began on May 12 and will continue till May 23.

On the work front, Alia will next be seen in the upcoming spy thriller Alpha. The film also stars Sharvari Wagh, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles. Directed by Shiv Rawail and backed by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films, the film is slated to release on July 10.
