Deepika Padukone finally makes an official announcement of her next ‘Chhapaak’

Actress Deepika Padukone is hands down one of the most sought-after actresses in Bollywood these days. She literally ruled the box office with her one and only film ‘Padmaavat’. Later she went on to grab headlines for her fairytale wedding to beau Ranveer Singh and later she was even crowned the sexiest Asian woman of 2018. So overall this year has been quite a fascinating one for Deepika both personally and professionally.

Post, ‘Padmaavat’, Deepika had not signed any films as she was busy planning her destination wedding. However a few months back it was confirmed that the leggy beauty will be starring in filmmaker Meghna Gulzar’s next. The film will be based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The makers of the film decided its title just a few days back and today finally Deepika made an official announcement about the film as well as its title.

‘Chhapaak’ was being produced by Meghna Gulzar and Deepika herself, but now even the Fox Star Studios have on board for this film. Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh too made the announcement about the same on Twitter.

Earlier, there were speculations regarding Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao being roped in to star opposite Deepika in this biopic, but last week it was confirmed that power-house performer Vikrant Massey has been signed for the film.
