Mahesh Bhatt Admits He NEVER Advices Alia Bhatt On Dealing With Criticism, Hate

Veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, with a career spanning over five decades, has always been known for his cinematic brilliance and candid opinions. Now, he shares his perspective on parenting adults, especially in the age of social media hate faced by his daughter Alia Bhatt. Scroll down to read what he said.

Mahesh Bhatt Reveals Never Giving Any Advice To Alia Bhatt

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Bhatt emphasised that he doesn’t interfere in his children’s careers or how they handle criticism. “I never give advice to my children. They are brighter than me. They will learn on their own. Life is the only teacher,” he said, highlighting his belief that children should navigate their own journeys.

Bhatt also stressed that overprotection can be counterproductive. He stated, “Protection will make them cripples. No, let them taste the light, burn as we all do.” Viewing fame’s challenges as an “occupational hazard,” he acknowledged that criticism and online hate are part of the package for actors today. “Fame has a price. If you stand in the sun, you will get sunburned,” he remarked.

He explained that parents should accept that their children’s lives are different from their own, and that trying to replicate past lessons may not fit the current times. “Parents cannot hope that their children will apply their life lessons perfectly. The river changes as it flows,” Bhatt advised.
