Kangana Ranaut is gearing for the release of her period drama ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi‘. To add authenticity to her role, the diva has taken training for horseriding and sword fighting too. Her dedication has left action director Nick Powell quite impressed as during a conversation with Mid-day, he revealed that the actress preferred to do all the action sequences by herself. He also said that though he has worked with the likes of Russell Crowe, Tom Cruise, and Brad Pitt, the ‘Queen’ star gave him a different experience.

Nick Powell said, “Kangana insisted on doing all the action herself. The idea was to show a warrior who has been learning the ropes from a young age. Kangana practiced sword fighting for eight hours a day, and convincingly pulled off each stunt. I have worked with the likes of Russell Crowe, Tom Cruise, and Brad Pitt, but she gave me the unique experience in which an actress was leading the pack. There were times when she pulled off smoother stunts than Tom Cruise.”

He added that filmmakers wanted to do better than what they had achieved. So when he requested for an additional crew of 25 experts who specialize in rope work and sword fights, they immediately agreed.

Kangana had suffered a big injury on the sets of ‘Manikarnika’ while shooting for a stunt. She had suffered a deep cut on her forehead during a sword fight scene with her co-star Nihaar Pandya. But the injury did not deter the lady from giving her best. We are impressed with Kangana’s dedication to her work.

‘Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi’ is all set to release on 25th of January, 2019.
