Sharad Mehra On Casting Manu And Jiya For Mannu Kya Karegga?
Sharad spoke about selecting Vyom and Saachi Bindra as the lead characters, Manu and Jiya. Sharad shared that many actors were auditioned for the role of Jiya. Among the options was Aneet Padda, who gained fame from Saiyaara and is now a rising star. However, the team felt that Saachi Bindra perfectly fit the character of Jiya. Talking about the same, he shared, “For Manu and Jiya, we wanted actors who truly looked like the characters. When I saw Vyom for the first time, I felt he completely suited Manu. It felt like his audition happened in real life, not just on camera.”
He further added, “We auditioned many girls for Jiya’s role. Saiyaara star Aneet was one of the strong choices, but when we saw Saachi, it felt like she was Jiya. That feeling made our decision easy.”
The film’s team strongly believes that both Vyom and Saachi bring authenticity to their roles, and fans will connect with their performances on screen.
During the same event, Lalit Pandit shed light on the music of the film and said, “I work as per the situation demands. Manu’s music has come out of a lot of self-satisfaction. I haven’t seen the film, but I feel the film would be well created by Sharad. Bas yehi umeed hai ki sab aacha ho, music ka aacha daur aa raha hai, and we wished that we would have come first, but Saiyaara phele aa gayi. Ab toh khene theek nahi hoga yeh. The music is good, but if this film is good too, then it will reach what it has aimed for.”
Mannu Kya Karegga promises a fresh story with exciting new faces. Backed by Sharad Mehra under Curious Eyes Cinema and directed by Ssanjay Tripaathy. The romantic film hits cinemas nationwide on 12th September 2025.
