Mawra Hocane, Saba Qamar And 3 Other Pakistani Artists’ Instagram Visible In India After 2 Months Ban

Many Pakistani actors’ Instagram accounts, including Mawra Hocane, Saba Qamar, and others, are now accessible in India. However, the accounts of other Pakistani stars such as Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, and Atif Aslam remain “unavailable” to Indian users.

While none of the other Instagram accounts of Pakistani actors were accessible in India, it seems like Mawra Hocane and Saba Qamar’s accounts are now visible for Indian users. On Tuesday, several Instagram users reported being able to view their profiles.

About Pahalgam Attack

To recall, the ban on Pakistani actors’ Instagram accounts in India was implemented following the Pahalgam attack. On April 22, at least 26 civilian casualties were reported. The attack primarily targeted Hindu tourists and was claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF). It’s an offshoot of the Pakistan-based, UN-designated terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). In retaliation, Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor. They struck 9 terrorist infrastructure sites across Pakistan and in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). This escalated tensions along the Line of Control (LoC).

Sanam Teri Kasam 2 Controversy

Regarding Mawra Hocane, she made her Bollywood debut in 2016 with the film Sanam Teri Kasam alongside Harshvardhan Rane. However, she was later removed from the sequel. Rane publicly stated on his Instagram that he would refuse to participate in Sanam Teri Kasam 2 if the same cast was retained. He also cited his concerns over comments made about his country.

Recently, Punjabi actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh faced criticism for collaborating with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his film Sardaar Ji 3. The film was not released in India amidst the ongoing controversy.
