Oscars reason for not including Shah Rukh Khan in the Academy Members List

As the Academy Awards Members list was announced, many Bollywood celebs like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Irrfan Khan have been on the list of invitees to join the Academy and lend their vote for the Oscars. But one prominent name was missing and that was of Shah Rukh Khan. The actor who is one of the biggest superstars of our country and also a sensation overseas was not on the list. Well of course, his fans were disappointed and shocked. They expressed their angst on social media and questioned the decision of the Oscars to do away with his name.

So finally, the Academy released an official statement over the same. The statement read, “The basic requirement is that a candidate must have demonstrated exceptional achievement in the field of theatrical motion pictures.” (Also Read: A theatre in Belgium sells Salman Khan’s ‘Tubelight’ under Shah Rukh Khan’s name)

Surely, we are not convinced with the reason provided by the Oscars for excluding SRK’s name from the list.
