The historians include Professor BL Gupta and Professor RS Khangarot. While speaking to the media, Khangarot stated that the real fight is not between Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Karni Sena, but between Bhansali and history.

He said, “Once we watch the film, it will be clear if history has been tampered with or not. It should be very clear that we will share the historical facts to the best of knowledge and will not be backing any political party.” He further added that the age-old custom of jauhar (mass immolation) should be portrayed correctly in the movie or it could have an undesirable impact on the audience. Sources state that a four-member panel has been formed to review the movie next month in January. (Also Read: Padmavati: CBFC member states that the movie may not release before March)
