Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Raj Kundra

Actress-entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband Raj Kundra are in headlines today for not the right reasons. Allegedly, a businessman has lodged a criminal complaint against the actress and her husband for not paying dues amounting to Rs 24 lakhs. This complaint is filed against Best Deal TV, a home shopping channel firm owned by Shilpa and Raj, along with three other directors named Darshit Shaha, Uday Kothari and Vedant Balli, whose names have also been included in this.

The businessman, Ravi Bhalotia has a bed sheet manufacturing unit in Bhiwandi and he has claimed that he had sold bed sheets through the TV channel. Bhalotia’s complaint states that the former chief executive officer of the firm, Gaurav Garg, had contacted him in May 2015, asking him to deal through Best Deal TV, as celebrities like Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty were associated with the firm. Reportedly, they avoided paying their dues, for the period between July and September in year 2016. Further, the company had shut down the channel. And now the company owes him Rs 24.12 lakh.

But, dismissing it to be a false case, Raj Kundra has taken to his Twitter writing, “Sadly It’s so easy to register FIR’s in india a complete misuse of power by a crooked vendor #bhalotia who owes best deal money! Will counter.” [sic] (Also Check: Watch: Not Shilpa Shetty Kundra, but Deepika Padukone is hubby Raj Kundra’s favourite actress!)

Further, he wrote, “It is the duty of the cops registering a case to check contracts and if they had they would not have registered this fake case! #sad!!” [sic]

He even quoted to Pinkvilla saying, “The vendor is misusing his connections in various stations. We have tight contracts signed and on the contrary this vendor owes us money for not fulfilling orders. Best deal is unfortunately being wound up due to the business failing and we are following the laws of the land to close the various matters properly.” [sic]

“We are filing a case against the vendor tomorrow and my legal team will go and meet the officials who have registered this bogus case,” added Raj. [sic]

Let’s wait for more updates on it.
