Poonam Pandey has always been in the limelight because of her fiery and controversial remarks. One such controversy arose in 2011, when Pandey openly commented on stripping naked if Team India, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, wins the ODI World Cup in 2011. When asked about what made her make such comments, Poonam Pandey said, “It has a very long story. I was a Kingfisher model back then. There were a lot of modelling jobs par mujhe samajh nahi aaraha tha ki main is industry mein ghusu kaise? Jaise ki maine aapko pehle bataya, main hardly kisi ko jaanti hu. Itna malum hai khaali without ticket train kaise pakadna hai, TC se chupke gali se kaise bhaagna hai, mujhe woh sab aata hai. But yahan in logo se kaise baat karna hai, us time par nahi aata tha.”

The actress further added,” Journalist kaafi mere friends the, abhi bhi hai aur hum log aise baithe the, chit chat kar rahe the, aur yeh idea bahar aagaya. Aur main aise khadi hui ki haan yeh idea accha hai. Yeh karte hai. That’s how that entire thing happened. Yes, mujhe is industry mein aana tha aur desperately aana tha without kisi ko takleef diye. Maine kabhi kisi ko takleef nahi diya main abhi bhi kisi ko takleef nahi deti hu. I do everything that I feel like is good for me.”

Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Comments On This Controversy

When asked about what Team India captain MS Dhoni said during the controversial incident, Pandey replied, “Thoda spice toh banta hai.” Adding to this, she said, “Toh theek hai yaar, matlab itna kya seriously le rahe ho life ko.”
