Prabal Gurung denies dating Karan Johar, says, “Can we have some humour and levity please?”

Nepalese-American fashion designer Prabal Gurung has finally clarified rumours surrounding his relationship with filmmaker-actor Karan Johar. The designer has clearly stated that he is not romantically involved with Karan. Rumours of these two being in a relationship started doing the rounds when on KJo’s birthday, Prabal shared their picture alongside the caption, “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya. Happy birthday KJo.” However, the designer stated that it was all done in humour and it should not be misconstrued in any other way.

On the occasion of Karan Johar’s 47th birthday, Prabal took to his Instagram handle to share the following post.

Soon congratulatory messages started pouring in for them however it turns out that Prabal simply adores and admires Karan as a friend, mentor and confidante. He even admitted being in a steady relationship with someone else.

Putting a full stop to all the speculations surrounding their relationship, Prabal wrote, “Can we have some humour and levity, please. I feel very saddened and disappointed to need to say this, but to officially set the record straight: I am not in a romantic relationship with Karan Johar,”

Prabal ended his post saying, “As a global society, we need to expand the horizon and definition of love. I feel that each and every one of us need to love whoever we want, however, we want to love them — unabashedly, openly and proudly.”
