Priyadarshan Calls His Go-To Cast “Known Devils”

In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Rajpal Yadav shared his experience of working with a familiar cast—actors he has collaborated with multiple times before—highlighting the challenge of ensuring that each scene and nuance feels fresh and distinct. Reflecting on this perspective, Priyadarshan said, “There is a kahawat in Malayalam which says that when you have enough butter in your kitchen, please don’t look for ghee. Just heat it and use it. Similarly, I feel that these are my assets whom I can trust and give my scenes to. Of course, I have taken new actors like Jishun Gupta, Wamika Gabbi, and all these people are also there. But for certain roles, I can only trust these people because I know that what I envision will come out right.”

He further added, “I don’t have the patience to teach people again and again what I want. So once you know that these people can deliver, I prefer them. There’s a saying that if it’s known, devils are better than unknown angels. So, these are my known devils.”
