Salman Khan’s 'Sultan'

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s Sultan teaser was recently unveiled. The introduction of Salman Khan is done by a voice that goes on and on in a Haryanvi accent. The voice is heard saying, ‘Haryane Ki Shaan, Haryane Ka Sher, Haryane Ki Jaan – Sultan Ali Khan’. The voice is of the film’s director, Ali Abbas Zafar.

Sources revealed that, “Once the lines were in place, Ali used to mouth them repeatedly so that all involved with the film got a hang of how the film would be structured and presented. The idea was to have a professional dubbing artist do this for the teaser, considering the fact that not even a glimpse of Salman is being shown in these 30 seconds. Moreover, since the film is still a year away, it is just this teaser which will be played for months. The makers couldn’t afford to hit one wrong note.”

Sources further added that, “Ultimately after a few tries Ali decided to do it himself, he was given a nod by Salman Khan too. It wasn’t too tough for Ali, a Delhi guy, who has interacted with countless Jats during his school and college days. He has studied in North Campus, Delhi University, and there are quite a few Haryanvi speaking youngsters in the vicinity. For Ali, it was just a matter of getting the right lines and the lingo flowed automatically.”

A remarkable feat we say.
