Rhea Chakraborty Showik judicial custody extended

Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on September 9 on the drug nexus case that is connected to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. She was under judicial custody till October 6. But now, as per a report in ANI, the Special NDPS Court has now extended the judicial custody of Rhea, Showik Chakraborty and others till October 20.

“Special NDPS Court extends judicial custody of Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty and others till 20th October,” ANI’s tweet read.

Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty were charged under Sections 20, 22, 27, and 29 of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act. She was sent to judicial custody till September 22. Both Rhea and her brother filed bail pleas but they were rejected by the special NDPS court.

They had approached the High Court for bail and the order is expected to come tomorrow. If the court approves bail then Rhea and Showik will be released.

Rhea and her brother were arrested after WhatsApp chats regarding the use of drugs surfaced. NCB had stated, “The actor was involved in the illicit trafficking of drugs and she financed drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput.”

After the AIIMS forensic team ruled out the murder theory in Sushant’s case, Rhea’s supporters and also celebs like Swara Bhasker and Kanika Dhillon demanded the release of Rhea.
