It’s indeed a sad day for lovers of Bollywood. After reports surfaced this morning stating that Bollywood’s He-Man, Dharmendra is no more, fans of the veteran star were left heartbroken. As they come to terms with the lost, the actor’s family and close industry friends were spotted arriving for his final rites at Mumabi’s Pawan Hans crematorium.

Given the love and respect he amassed over the 65 years he was active in the Hindi film industry, his fans and colleagues are taking to various social media platforms to express their sadness, remember the star and pay heartfelt tributes to Bollywood’s He-Man. Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor Pay Tributes To Dharmendra

Taking to his Instagram account, Karan Johar shared a heartfelt note mourning the death of Dharam Ji while also celebrating his legacy. The filmmaker wrote, “It is an end of an ERA….. a massive mega star… the embodiment of a HERO in mainstream cinema… incredibly handsome and the most enigmatic screen presence … he is and will always be a bonafide Legend of Indian Cinema… defining and richly present in the pages of cinema history … but mostly he was the best human being… he was so loved by everyone in our industry.”

Karan further added, “He only had immense love and positivity for everyone … his blessings, his hug and his incredible warmth will be missed more than words can describe …. Today there is a gaping hole in our industry … a space that can never be filled by anyone … there will always be the one and only DHARAMJI… we love you kind Sir…. We will miss you so much…. The heavens are blessed today…. It will always be my blessing to have worked with you…. And my heart says with respect, reverence and love…. Abhi Na jao chodke…. Ke dil abhi bhara nahi…… OM SHANTI”

Kareena Kapoor took to her Instagram Stories and shared several pictures remembering the veteran superstar. All throwback pictures of Dharam Ji and her grandfather, Raj Kapoor, the pictures capture the ‘Sholay’ actor memorising us with his looks and smile. She captioned one, “Forever in power” along with a red heart emoji.

The actress captioned her last image “Chardi Kala” with a array of emojis including a rainbow, joined hands, red hear and infinity sign.

Kajol, Madhur Bhandarkar, Isha Koppikar Pay Their Respects

Kajol – who shared the screen with Dharmendra twice – Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998) and Taaqat (1995), also took to social media to remember the veteran superstar. Sharing an image of Dharam Ji and her son, the actress wrote, “The OG of the Good Man is gone and the world is poorer for it.. somehow it seems like we are only losing the good people in it. Kind to the core and loved always . RIP Dharamji .. with love always”

Actress Isha Koppikar took to her Instagram Stories and shared a small video remembering Dharemndra Ji. In it, she wrote, “The He-Man of Indian cinema. Forever in our hearts. ♥️ With love and respect. He didn’t just act… He inspired generations to dream, to love, and to live fully. What an extraordinary life – filled with grace, grit, and timeless memories. This feels like the end of an era… An irreplaceable loss to Indian cinema. A man who redefined charm, strength, and emotion – both on-screen and off it.”

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “I’m deeply saddened to hear about the passing of the legendary Dharmendra ji, the real He-Man of Indian cinema. I had the privilege of meeting him many times. He was always vibrant & full of humor. His remarkable contributions mark the end of an era in Indian cinema and will be eternally remembered. Om Shanti.”

About Dharmendra

Born on December 8, 1935 in Nasrali, Punjab, British India (present-day Punjab, India), Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025 at age 89. In an impressive career spanning 65 years, the veteran superstar featured in over 250 films and was even honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2012. Active till the very end, the actor’s last theatrical release will be Ikkis – a war drama based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. This film will shed light on the Battle of Basantar which took place during the 1971 India Pakistan War. It stars Agastya Nanda as 2nd Lt Arun Khetarpal.

Earlier today, his look was the film was unveiled.

On the personal front, Dharam ji is survived by his 2 wives – Prakash Kaur – whom he married in 1954 and actress Hema Malini – whom he married in 1980, his 6 children – Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta, Ajeeta, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol and 13 grandchildren, including Karan, Rajveer and Dharam.
