News of unidentified assailants firing four rounds outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s home on Sunday (February 1) let many shocked. As the police investigate the incident, a report has surfaced claiming Shetty has asked his friends and colleagues to connect with him only via calls and message and avoid dropping by his residence.
Rohit Shetty Request Friends, Colleagues Not To Visit Him Following House Firing
As per a India Today report, Rohit Shetty has cancelled all his scheduled plans and requested his friends and colleagues to not visit his home for at least 48 hours. The report quoted a source close to the development saying, “Rohit is currently cooperating with the Mumbai Police and recording his statement. He is fully involved in the investigation.”
They added, “Despite additional security being provided at his residence, he has asked all his industry friends not to come home. He is responding to concerned friends and colleagues only through calls and messages.” The article also noted that the filmmaker is focusing on assisting the authorities while ensuring that the situation does not escalate further.
About The Shooting
The incident took place during the early hours of Sunday, February 1. As per reports, a couple of unidentified assailants allegedly fired four rounds outside Shetty’s residential tower in Juhu. While officials confirmed there were no injuries, heavy police deployment was made in and around the area. As per the reports, forensic teams also arrived at the filmmaker’s home to examine the spot of the shooting and collect evidence.
In a significant development, five suspects have reportedly been detained in Pune in connection with the firing. These individual were later handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch for further questioning. The individual detained have been identified as Aman Anand Marote (27), Aditya Gyaneshwar Gayaki (19), Siddharth Deepak Yenpure (20), Samarth Shivsharan Pomaji (18), and Swapnil Bandu Sakat (23).
As per other reports, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the incident.
