Sonakshi Sinha Believes Father Shatrughan Sinha Is Unlikely To Return To Films, Says, “He’s Too Busy With Politics”

Sonakshi Sinha stepped into Bollywood in 2010 by playing the female lead opposite Salman Khan in Dabangg. As per reports, she entered the industry on the advice of Salman Khan, who had spotted her at a college fashion week in the 2000s. Despite her father, Shatrughan Sinha, being an actor and producer (he backed films like Kalka and Bihari Babu), he chose not to meddle with her career, and gave her free rein to navigate the industry.

During a recent interview with Sonakshi got candid about the freedom the actor-politician gave her and whether or not he may ever back a project she stars in.

Sonakshi Sinha: Shatrughan Sinha Won’t Return To Films

While interacting with News18 recently, Sonakshi Sinha spoke about the support and freedom her MP father, Shatrughan Sinha gave her in the industry. She said, “He has never told me that he wants to produce a film for me.” In fact, she went on to say that her father may have no intention of returning to films at this moment.

Talking about the veteran actor and his return to films, the ‘System’ actress said, “I, anyway, don’t think that he’s tilted towards making a film as of now. He has produced films in the past. Right now, he’s too busy with his politics and I think he has made that whole transition very beautifully. He’s happy wherever he is and with what he’s doing.”

Sonakshi Sinha continues, “Tough fathers make really resilient and strong daughters. My dad, on the other hand, has always been very soft on me but very, very honest too. But his main thing has been that I’ll have to prove myself on my own. His approach might have been different but I think that always works in creating a strong and independent woman.”

For the unversed, Shatrughan Sinha is currently an MP in the Lok Sabha and represents the Asansol constituency for AITC. His last onscreen outing was Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se.

On the work front, Sonakshi Sinha was recently seen playing a lawyer in the Netflix film, System. Prior to that, she played the lead, Dhanapisachini, in the bilingual film Jatadhara
