Sonam Bajwa is a known face in the Punjabi film industry. Her film Honsla Rakh which also stars Dilijit Dosanjh was a acclaimed hit among her fans. Recently, teh actress sat down with Bollywood Bubble for an interview and opened up on the overwhelming love and why it has taken her so long to do a full-fledged Hindi film. She also spoke about the difference in beauty standards between the Punjabi film industry and the Hindi film industry

While talking about the difference, “ I’ve not seen a difference. I mean I’ve not worked in Mumbai yet as such so I don’t know but what surprises me is that our generation is now so much more aware. Of course, there’s one section of people who’ll surely have something to say everyone. But there are also people who will encourage and you know who’ll accept you.

While opining on why the beauty standards exist, Sonam Bajwa said, “You know earlier maybe there were these standards that a heroine should be fair. However, I think that’s not just the industry standard. That was in our culture. That colourism is still there but it’s getting better with time. So I think once it gets out of our society, these standards will be out of our industry as well”.

While reflecting on what happens, Kaatteri actress said, “In the industry,  I feel people really celebrate women who are Dusky and dark-skinned and unique. I’ve never had this experience in the(Punjab) industry that someone was like you know discriminating. Never. Not in the Punjabi industry”.
