Sunny Deol’s Mohalla Assi to be ‘Banned’ in Varanasi?


Sunny Deols upcoming film ‘Mohalla Assi‘ is already embroiled into controversy, the makers of the film had released the trailer of the film a few days back. The Sunny Deol-starrer ‘Mohalla Assi’ had hundreds of people out on streets demanding the removal of a controversial scene. The scene in question is of a man dressed as Lord Shiva is seen using abusive language.

Members of the Kash Viddhat Parishad staged a protest in front of the Collectorate, demanding the removal of the scene. Ram Narayan Dwivedi, the secretary of the parishad said, “Kashi is a religious place for the Hindus and Lord Shiva is our supreme god. It (the scene) not only hurts the sentiments of the Hindus but also maligns the image of the holy city of Varanasi.”

Swami Avimukteshwaranand, who represents the Shri Vidhya Math in Varanasi, said, “We will not tolerate this and if the scene is not removed, we will ensure that the film is not released in Varanasi.

A few days back the trailer of the movie had leaked online.
