The hearing took place on Tuesday, chaired by NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar. The commission stated that the lyrics and presentation of “Tateeree” were found to be objectionable and harmful to the dignity and decency of women. Rahatkar expressed deep concern over this and emphasised that such content cannot be ignored. She directed everyone involved in the song to ensure that similar incidents are not repeated.

Unconditional Apology From The Team

Badshah, along with directors Joban Sandhu and Mahavir Singh, and producer Hiten, were present at the hearing. All parties submitted unconditional written apologies and acknowledged the concerns raised by the NCW. They expressed regret for any harm caused to society and assured the commission that they would avoid creating such content in the future.

Badshah’s Pledge For Change

During the proceedings, Badshah made several commitments, including a promise to contribute positively through his work. He stated, “I will work for the upliftment of women and society. I will release a positive song focused on women’s empowerment within four months and will refrain from such activities moving forward.”

Additionally, the rapper announced that he would sponsor the education of 50 girls from economically weaker sections. The controversy surrounding “Tateeree” has once again highlighted the importance of artists’ responsibility and the societal impact of music content. The NCW’s intervention indicates a stricter stance against content deemed offensive or derogatory towards women.
