The new poster of ‘Daddy’ has Arjun Rampal in two shades

As we near the release of Arjun Kapoor’s ‘Daddy’, the curiosity is more and more. While Arun Gawli might not have been a very familiar name to people outside Mumbai, he indeed touched many lives and made a mark. Not just a robber or not just a messiah , but a personality with blend of right and wrong, highs and lows is what Gawli is. Hence, his life got to look interesting on celluloid.

Arjun Rampal essays the lead role and looks intriguing in the titular role. As reported earlier, he will be catching a number of phases in Gawli’s life. After a couple of posters and also the trailer, we have now got our hands on a 3D poster that has Arjun as a gangster in his youth and as a prisoner as well. “Some people had come and approached me with the film and said that they had got the rights. It wasn’t a bad script but it didn’t excite me. I didn’t feel it was a true story. I asked them why they were diluting it by collating a few things and then putting an item song, too much action etc. I didn’t want to do something like that. I wanted to do something more intriguing,” Arjun recently told Mumbai Mirror, while discussing the film.

For those uninitiated, he has also turned producer for this one and has co-written the script as well. The film rumouredly stars Farhan Akhtar as Dawood Ibrahim in a special role. Helmed by Ashim Alhuwalia, it is set to release on 8th September, 2017.
