Vicky Kaushal has reportedly made a major lifestyle change to prepare for his next big project with Maddock Films, Mahavatar, based on the life of Lord Parashurama. For this mythological epic, the actor has decided to quit non-vegetarian food and alcohol, embracing a disciplined routine to align with the spiritual essence of his role.
Vicky Kaushal Non-Veg, Alcohol For Amar Kaushik’s Mahavatar?
Mahavatar marks Vicky’s third collaboration with Maddock Films after Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and Chhaava, and will be directed by Stree 2 filmmaker Amar Kaushik. The film is expected to go on floors in 2026, with a grand pooja ceremony planned before the shoot begins.
According to a source quoted by Bollywood Hungama, both Vicky and Amar have chosen to make personal sacrifices for the project. “A film like Mahavatar requires complete focus, and the duo want to give it their all to make it a visual spectacle. They’ve decided to give up non-veg food and start preparations with a traditional pooja ceremony next year,” the insider revealed.
The report further adds that Vicky will adopt these lifestyle changes once he wraps up Love and War, his upcoming film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which is currently delayed. “While Amar has already made the shift, Vicky will follow once his current commitments end — it’s his way of showing respect to the part of Lord Parashurama,” the source added.
Ranbir QUITS Smoking, Drinking While Filming Ramayana
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time an actor has taken such a step for a mythological role. Earlier, Ranbir Kapoor also gave up smoking and drinking while preparing to play Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. During a fan interaction, Ranbir said, “I’ve quit smoking and drinking. I’m really trying to clean up my life, be healthy for my daughter and myself.”
