Welcome To The Jungle: Akshay Kumar Starrer Halted Due To Pahalgam Attack; 70% Shoot Complete, 30% To Begin Soon – Report

Akshay Kumar-led multi-starrer Welcome to the Jungle has encountered a delay in its filming schedule, but the reasons behind the halt may not be related to financial issues, contrary to earlier reports. On Tuesday, there were claims that the production had paused due to non-payment of dues to the crew. However, a source close to the project clarifies that the break was caused by the Pahalgam attack, as filming was scheduled to take place in Kashmir.

Directed by Ahmed Khan, Welcome to the Jungle boasts an ensemble cast of 34 actors, including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, and Disha Patani. The shooting was halted last month. As reported by ETimes, “70% of the shoot of Welcome To The Jungle is already done. The remaining 30% was to be scheduled in Kashmir, but because of the unfortunate Pahalgam attack, the plan got pushed. The entire schedule was locked, which included helicopters, over 250 horses with horsemen, and 1200 junior artists.”

Despite the setback, the insider assured that the project is firmly back on track, “Everything is on track. All 34 actors are excited and set to commence the last marathon schedule and will begin post-rains on a different location,” they added.

On Monday, Pinkvilla reported that the film’s shoot had been cancelled due to financial issues. “The film has been on floors for over a year and a half now. There are also issues of non-payment of dues to the actors and their staff. Some of the originally cast actors have exited the project, while others are still supporting it out of love for the franchise. They all believe that Welcome is a beloved franchise and are willing to adjust their dates to help complete Welcome to the Jungle,” the report quoted a source.

Welcome to the Jungle was officially announced in 2023 with a star-studded cast. The announcement video featured the cast performing a cappella, hinting at the humour the film will deliver. The film was initially scheduled for release on Christmas 2025, but has since been postponed.
