Actor-filmmaker Sunny Deol entered politics prior to this year’s Assembly elections. Recently, Sunny rescued an Indian woman from slavery as she was being sold as a slave in Kuwait. Now, father Dharmendra is not only happy about his son’s deeds but also worried about the same. The veteran actor took to Twitter to express his gratitude for all the love his followers have showered on his son.

Taking to the microblogging site, Dharmendra wrote, “Dear friends, thanks a lot for your encouraging comments for Sunny. He will do his best for Gurdaspur. A worried father.

A few days back, the 83-year-old actor had shared a newspaper clipping of the report which stated that Sunny had saved a woman from slavery. Giving his blessings to Sunny, the ‘Sholay’ actor had written, “Naukari samjh kar farz nibhana Sunny beta. God bless you.

Sunny, who is a BJP MP from Gurdaspur in Punjab, rescued the 45-year-old woman when he came to know that she was sold to a Pakistani man by a travel agent under the lure of giving her a job. As per an IANS report, the actor-politician contacted the Ministry of External Affairs. Along with the help of two NGOs, he was able to bring that woman back in India safely.

Naturally, father Dharmendra is so proud of him.
