jab harry met sejal

Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma-starrer ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ had a huge fall in numbers on Monday. The movie has raked in somewhere between Rs 6-7 crore nett. This is 55% drop from its first day which saw the best numbers of approximately Rs 15.25 crore nett. Talking about the Monday business, then the numbers are very low as it was a part holiday for Raksha Bandhan so the movie could have done better.

The best collection came from South and West Bengal, and from states like UP and Rajasthan, where the movie held better due to the holiday factor. So, the total four-day business of the movie is over Rs 50 crore nett. It will yet to be seen if the movie can pick up during the upcoming Independence Day weekend, as Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ will be hitting the screens this Friday.

The earlier estimates of the first week predict that the movie should collect somewhere near Rs 60 crore nett. However, it all depends on the fall in numbers on Tuesday. Ever since Salman Khan’s ‘Tubelight’ did a low business, the box office has only seen the collections dropping for every movie and the flop rate of movies is increasing, which is indeed scary. With Shah Rukh Khan as the main lead, magic was expected, but given the rate, seems like the movie won’t be able to even manage and entry into the Rs 100 crore club. Poor reviews from the critics and negative word-of-mouth publicity are some reasons for people to stay away from watching the movie. Let’s wait and watch if some miracle happens for it, now.

‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ is directed by Imtiaz Ali, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and stars Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in lead roles.
