Released on December 5, Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar is showing no signs of stopping. The action spy thriller, starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal and others in pivotal roles, has been unstoppable at the box office and the film’s national as well as overseas box office performance is proof. As the espionage drama continues to run at the BO for 18 days, it has emerged as the biggest 3rd weekend earner in Hindi cinemas.

As per the maker’s latest social media post, Dhurandhar amassed Rs 40.30 crore (NBOC) on its third Sunday. This number, paired with its 3rd Friday and 3rd Saturday collection of Rs 23.70 crore and Rs 35.70 crore, respectively, takes the film’s third weekend collection to an impressive Rs 99.70 crore. The film’s current NBOC total in India stand at Rs 579.20 crore, a feat not easily accomplished.

Talking about the latest feat it has accomplished at the domestic box office, Dhurandhar has left behind recent juggernauts like Animal and Chhaava and become the first film in the history of Hindi cinema to nearly hit a century in its third weekend. The Ranveer Singh starrer has also beat Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava and become the new Hindi film with the biggest Weekend 3 score.

In an extraordinary turn of events, even the mighty Avatar: Fire and Ash, which released on Friday, has been completely overshadowed by Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller.

The makers have made sure his character is human and that the biggest plus for the film. Dhurandhar’s music, cinematography and dialogues along with a well-written but lengthy script also deserve rounds of applauds.”
