Tumhari Sulu collection

Vidya Balan-starrer ‘Tumhari Sulu’ started on a slow note collecting Rs 2.65 crore on Friday. But, thanks to the positive word of mouth, the film showed an amazing jump on Saturday. Though the film didn’t manage to get a huge jump on Sunday, the weekend collection is not at all bad.

On Saturday the film collected Rs 4.25 crore and on Sunday it collected approximately Rs 5 crore, taking the three-day total to Rs 11.90 crore. The movie is already a profitable venture for its makers as even before the release the budget of the film was recovered. But, to be a hit theatrically, the movie surely needs to continue to do well on weekdays. If the first Monday collection is anywhere near the Friday collection, then the movie has high chances of getting the hit tag. The weekend collection of ‘Tumhari Sulu’ is more than Vidya’s last release ‘Begum Jaan’ (Rs 10.73 crore), but it failed to beat the weekend collection of ‘Kahaani 2’ (Rs 16.51 crore).

Vidya had back-to-back flops at the box office, so let’s hope that ‘Tumhari Sulu’ continues to do well, and finally gives the actress a much needed hit.

Talking about ‘Golmaal Again’, in its fifth weekend, the film has collected Rs 75 lakh approximately, taking the till date total to Rs 203.64 lakh. Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer ‘Ittefaq’ also had few takers in its third weekend. The film collected Rs 60 lakh, so the total collection of the film is 26.83 crore. Well, if not a hit, ‘Ittefaq’ has surely proved to be a semi-hit at the box office.
