Namik Paul On Working With Ektaa Kapoor On Naagin 7
Speaking about Ektaa Kapoor’s detailed approach, Namik Paul shared how every briefing adds new layers to the story and his character. He said, “Ektaa ma’am ke saath joh briefing hui thi pehli, ab toh teen briefings ho gayi hai. Toh every time joh character ki clarity milti hai, joh story pata chalti hai, toh hume bhi wahi pe pata chalta hai ki aage kya twists and turns aa rahe hai.”
He further added that the most recent briefing stood out for its scale and dramatic shifts, saying, “The last briefing was amazing because usme bohot bade bade high points hai, jaha pe story ekdum se turn leti hai. Hum bhi dekh ke soch reh gaye the ki that will be fun to see.”
Elaborating on Ektaa Kapoor’s creative vision, Namik highlighted how her experience reflects in the way she builds narratives. He said, “Ektaa ma’am ki joh briefings hoti hai lambi hoti hai, woh pure episode ke baare mein batati hai, Beech beech mein woh aisi aisi cheeze de deti hai joh actor leke apna pura character uspe build kar sakta hai.” According to him, working with someone who has successfully delivered seven seasons of Naagin feels both inspiring and exciting. “Unka joh vision hai woh dekh ke bohot interesting laga, ki how much thought and how much layering she puts in.”
Namik Paul On Creative Liberty Given To Actors
Talking about creative liberty on set, Namik Paul shared that actors receive ample freedom to elevate scenes while staying aligned with the director’s vision. He explained, “Aapko bohot freedom diya jaata hai. If you can make the scene better, Aisa nahi hai ki aap apne director aur co-actors ko surprise kar de.” He added that rehearsals become a space for collaboration, where directors actively encourage actors to contribute. “You feel very free to make the scene as best as you can, as long as you are adding to the scene and making the show better, you’re always encouraged.”
Namik Paul On Mouni Roy And Naagin’s Legacy
Namik Paul plays the role of a journalist on the show when asked who he would like to take an interview of from the previous shows he shares, “Mouni Roy, I think would be the person you would ask ‘unke liye what was the challenge, how was it jab ekdum se pehle toh ki itna bada show mount kiya gaya aur fir jab uska reaction joh mila, when it just took off, and it became (huge) ki aap kisi se bhi bol sakte hai Naagin and everybody knows about Naagin toh kaisa raha unke liye?’ What is that legacy, and even if you talk about it now, she’s one of the first names that comes to your mind, so how has that been to carry that forward?”
