Daaku Duo On Staying Masked As Talwiinder
When asked why they – just like singer Talwiinder opt to keep their faces hidden, one half of Daaku Duo answered in a mix of Hindi and English saying, “I think the reason behind hiding the face is very simple – like Talwiinder paaji, unhone bhi kaafi interviews mein same cheez boli hai ki, he that because he didn’t want people to know him for his face. He wanted the people, the audience to know him for his music. And he achieved that very, very greatly. I think it’s the same with us. It doesn’t matter to us if people recognise us or no, all that matters is that they recognise our music.”
Elaborating furtherl, one member of the masked duo said, “Another reason – it’s about the privacy. Humme bahot aacha lagta hai jab hum airport pe ya kahi bhi travel kar rahe hai toh nobody recognises us. We never feel ki… jum 1% bhi artist hai ya anything. But the moment we get in our attire, we go on the stage, the aura comes. The aura comes with the attire. Woh automatically aa jaata hai.”
They concluded, “It’s a different kind of feeling to live a two-face life. (Hum) do zindagi jeete hai which is very exciting.”
