EXCLUSIVE: Deepshikha Nagpal Recalls Confronting Hrithik Roshan For Not Including Her In Koyla Promo; Says, “I Asked Him…..”

Deepshikha Nagpal is an actress and film director who mainly works in Hindi films and TV productions. She has starred in films LIKE Koyla, Baadshah, Dillagi and Partner. She participated as a contestant in Colours TV’s reality show Bigg Boss Season 8 in 2014. During an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Deepshikha Nagpal recalls Hrithik Roshan working as an AD on Rakesh Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan’s Koyla.

Talking about Hrithik Roshan being the AD in Rakesh Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan’s Koyla, Deepshikha Nagpal said, “Yes, Hrithik was an AD (Assistant Director) on that project. I still remember it clearly. It’s good, you asked me. Hrithik wanted to become an actor, but Rakesh ji was a very strict father. He said, ‘You won’t act just because you’re my son. You’ll have to work for it.’ And Hrithik is a very hardworking guy. He used to come to the set, and he would say, ‘Please tell daddy who cast me.'”

She added, “So what Sameer Arya used to do—whenever a scene was cut, he’d turn the camera toward Hrithik, showing his face. That way, when Rakesh ji would be editing, he’d keep seeing Hrithik. So the entire unit used to do this for Hrithik. They’d say, ‘I’ll do this; you do that,’ and edit it in such a way that Rakesh ji kept seeing Hrithik’s face again and again.”

Deepshikha Reveals Hrithik’s Hardwork

Concluding, the actress said, “He really worked hard. I remember once, a photographer came home, and I wasn’t at home, so I made Hrithik wait for three hours. And he was so sweet, such a simple guy. He used to look like Jesus Christ—thin, lean, and handsome. And back then, none of us knew Hrithik would become so big. He had edited the promo of Koyla. And he didn’t include me in the promo. So I said, ‘You didn’t put me in!’ Rakesh ji said, ‘Hrithik edited it.’ So I told Hrithik, ‘Dad told me you did the edit. You could have at least added one close-up of me! What would it cost you?’ He said, ‘You’re the surprise element!’ I asked, ‘How am I a surprise element? I’m not some big star!’ So I have this very beautiful memory of the entire family.”
