Eklavya Sood is all set to leave a lasting impression on millions with his raw and heart wrenching performance as Amarjeet Arora in Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files. As the film continues to create a stir worldwide with its narrative, the you fresh face – who essays the role of a World War returned soldier and a sympathizer for the Hindus in 1946 Bengal – exclusively interacted with Bollywood Bubble and got candid about several things.
From revealed whether he, like actor Saswata Chatterjee wasn’t aware about the film’s entire narrative to its name being changed from The Delhi File: Bengal Chapter to TBF, Sood opened up about several topics. Read on to know all he shared.
Eklavya Sood Reveals Receiving The Full Script Of The Bengal Files
Given that a couple of The Bengal Files cast members revealed that they weren’t fully in the loop about the film’s complete script or its title change, we asked Eklavya if he too was in he dark. Answering us, the actor – who plays Amarjeet Arora in the political drama – said, “The moment I signed the NDA, I was given the full script, so I was aware of the entire story from the beginning.”
He continued, “As for the title, initially it was The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter. Since the film is entirely about Bengal, the audience often questioned why it was called The Delhi Files. In Hollywood, it’s common to have ‘chapters’ in titles, but for us, The Bengal Files felt much clearer and more suited to the story we were telling.”
Eklavya On Anticipating Controversies Surrounding TBF
When asked if he anticipated controversies to surround the film when he signed the dotted line – especially given that several Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri films have previously created much noise ahead of their release, Eklavya replied, “I don’t like to box cinema into labels like ‘controversial’ or ‘non-controversial’, ‘Bollywood or independent’. For me, it always starts with the script.”
He continued, “When I read The Bengal Files, I knew it was exploring one of the darkest chapters of Indian history, and I immediately wanted to be part of it. I came here to do meaningful, content-driven cinema—and this film is exactly that.”
