Elli AvrRam Talks About Breaking Free From Being Typecast
Sharing about how she wishes not to be typecast into certain roles, Elli AvrRam shared, “I love drama. I love it when it has to do with emotions. When you have to express a lot through your eyes. I really got that experience because of the wonderful filmmaker Selvaraghavan sir, who is just outstanding. My God, I felt that I grew so much as an actress working under his direction, because of how he was teaching me.”
She further added, ” Even the techniques, like how you need to move your eyes in a cinematic way sometimes, understanding the depth of so many things. So yeah, it was a beautiful experience. I really want to portray more roles like that, where I get to be more like an Indian girl — wearing a saree and all of that — and not only like, for example, in Malang, where I was a complete contrast.”
Elli Talks About Her Bold Character In Malang
Further talking about her character in Malang, she said,“This girl with tattoos, badass, driving a Bullet, smoking up, and all of that. I was like, ‘Wow’. The kind of prep I had to do for that character, but it was also fun. Because that’s what I’ve always said I want to be a versatile actress. I want to live many lives in one lifetime. I don’t want to just portray one type of character.”
Elli concluded, “I don’t want to be typecast. I don’t want to do that. I want to be able to do everything, and I want the audience to look at me and feel like, ‘Yeh hai… yeh bhi hai.’ To the point where they can’t even recognise that I am the same person. Because I feel that when you can achieve that, that means you are a great actor.”
