Singer-Actor Daboo Malik Addresses Replacement Speculations In Maine Pyaar Kiya

Rumours had been circulating about Daboo Malik being replaced in Maine Pyaar Kiya. Responding to the speculation, he said, “Hua aisa tha ki uss dauraan Rajshri Production ki ek picture ban rahi thi jiska main lead tha. Jiska naam tha Saawan Jhoom Utha, aur gaane bhi main gaa raha tha. Ek singer-actor ko woh launch kar rahe the. Aur woh mujhe lagta hai ki Rajshri Production ka ek phase tha, jo uss waqt bahut bada phase nahi tha. Maine Pyaar Kiya ya Hum Aapke Hain Koun jaisa kuch nahi tha, unka 10 saal ka low phase tha. Uske baad yeh ek picture ban rahi thi, bahut hi low-budget film thi.”

Daboo further added, “Usmein Sooraj Barjatya ji, jo aage chal kar director banne wale the, woh uss dauraan lagbhag 21 saal ke the. Aur, is project ke saath associated the. Woh dekh rahe the ki kaise ho raha hai. Kyunki unke papa ki picture thi—Rajshri ki picture thi—aur woh uss dauraan wahan rehte the. I think woh unka starting point tha, toh woh samajh rahe the. Uss waqt poori ki poori picture VHS pe shoot hui thi. Maine uske saare 6 gaane gaaye the—shayad aaj bhi kahin honge. Ab lagta hai mujhe request karni chahiye ki bhaiya, please usko VHS pe release kar do.”

He continued, “Uske kaafi scenes shoot hue the, toh bada interesting trivia rahega. Maine usmein gaane bhi gaaye the. Phir woh project drop ho gaya—kuch bana nahi. Bahut saare reasons the, aisa nahi ki project viable nahi tha. Naya ladka, nayi ladki thi, aur directors ki team bhi itni badi nahi thi, itne bade associates bhi nahi the ki bade log kaam kar rahe ho, toh woh cheez ho nahi paayi.”

Daboo Malik Reflects On The Parallels Between Maine Pyaar Kiya And Saawan Jhoom Utha

Talking about similarities in Maine Pyaar Kiya and his unreleased film Saawan Jhoom Utha, he shared, “Usi dauraan I think Maine Pyaar Kiya ka poster design banna shuru ho gaya, launch hone laga. Toh kisi mod par mujhe laga ki jo script ban rahi thi, aur jab maine Maine Pyaar Kiya finally dekhi, toh mujhe kuch hissa Saawan Jhoom Utha jaisa feel hua—thoda similar laga. Halaanki aisa tha nahi, lekin hota hai na aadmi ko lagta hai ki yaar meri picture ban rahi thi Rajshri mein, main hero tha, mujhe launch hona tha… aur phir Salman Khan sahab ki success story kahaan se kahaan pahunch gayi.”

The singer concluded, “Shayad unko bhi nahi pata hoga. Amaal ki wajah se ab market mein yeh news aa gayi hai, lekin sach yeh hai ki aisa hua tha. Replace toh nahi hua—dono alag projects the. Lekin unki timing aisi thi ki lagta tha ki yeh wali love story nahi bani, woh wali ban gayi. Aur Daboo Malik peeche reh gaye, ya replace ho gaye. Actually dono kahaniyaan alag thi. Dono pictures alag thi. Bas timing aisi thi ki agar aaj social media hota, toh seedha likh dete: “Daboo Malik replaced.”
