‘Haider’, ‘Padmavati’ and more: Shahid’s superhit tryst with beard

Look 1 – ‘Kaminey’

'Kaminey' can be called the first flick where Shahid Kapoor portrayed an out-and-out negative role and a double role. He sported a long mane with a light French beard and looked quite the gunda that he played.

Look 2 – ‘R… Rajkumar’

After some years, he played a streetside romantic mavaali in 'R... Rajkumar' and with unkempt hair and grown facial fuzz, he did complete justice to his character.

Look 3 – ‘Haider’

Following year, the actor transformed his look for 'Haider' by going for a close crop and an unkempt beard. The new look further enhanced his performance and he bagged quite a few awards for the movie.

Look 4 – ‘Udta Punjab’

Last year, the actor opted for a hippy look with long locks, thick beard and a ripped physique. He played the role of a rockstar who is a druggie to the tee and earned rave reviews for the same.

Look 5 – ‘Rangoon’

This year, the actor was seen in Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Rangoon' in which he played the role of a British officer and he changed his look. He was seen sporting a moustache with well-kept hair. Even though the movie tanked, his look and performance met with praises.

Look 6 – ‘Padmavati’

Finally, talking about his current look, the actor is seen sporting an upturned royal moustache with a strong beard which is indicative of a historical character. Rightly so, it's his look for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama 'Padmavati' in which he plays the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh.
