Dhamaal 4 Review
Adi you are so smart! And so is Dhamaal 4. Some franchises are meant to evolve, while others simply need to stay true to what made audiences fall in love with them in the first place.
Dhamaal 4 smartly chooses the latter. Packed with slapstick humour, absurd situations, mistaken identities, and over-the-top chaos, the latest instalment embraces its madness wholeheartedly and delivers exactly what fans expect a laughter-filled family entertainer that never takes itself seriously.
Dhamaal 4 follows four greedy yet hilariously unlucky friends who learn about ₹50 crore supposedly hidden under the mysterious letter “M.” What begins as a treasure hunt quickly spirals into a series of wrong turns, bizarre clues, wild chases, jungle misadventures, accidental brawls, and endless comic disasters. Every time they believe they’re inches away from becoming millionaires, fate and their own foolishness has other plans. The result is two hours of pure, unapologetic madness that keeps the laughs coming. The talented ensemble led by Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi, this fourth outing feels refreshing and full of surprises.
What Works
The biggest strength of Dhamaal 4 is undoubtedly its ensemble cast. Seeing Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi, Sanjay Mishra and Ravi Kishan sharing screen space promises entertainment. A handful of comic moments, largely driven by Sanjay Mishra’s impeccable timing and Jaaved Jaaferi’s trademark innocence, manage to evoke a few laughs. The production scale is bigger than its predecessors, with lavish locations, colourful visuals and energetic action sequences adding some visual appeal.
The nostalgia factor works in its favour without becoming overbearing. Long-time fans will appreciate the familiar brand of humour while newer audiences can simply enjoy the chaos unfolding on screen.
Technical Analysis
Director Indra Kumar keeps the energy consistently high, ensuring the film rarely loses momentum. The comic timing is complemented by slick editing that prevents the chaos from becoming exhausting. The cinematography captures the adventurous locations effectively, while the background score amplifies the humour without becoming intrusive.
The production design suits the film’s larger-than-life tone, and the visual effects, though not extraordinary, work well within the genre’s exaggerated comic universe.
Star Performances
Ajay Devgn as Guddu Rastogi once again proves that his understated comic timing is one of his biggest strengths. His deadpan reactions amidst complete chaos create some of the film’s funniest moments.
Riteish Deshmukh as Lallan is effortlessly entertaining. His impeccable timing, expressive reactions, and natural flair for comedy make him one of the film’s standout performers.
Arshad Warsi as Adi brings his trademark wit and spontaneity, delivering laughs with ease. His chemistry with the rest of the gang remains one of the film’s biggest highlights.
Jaaved Jaaferi as Manav once again steals scenes with his signature innocence and quirky body language. His comic expressions continue to be among the franchise’s biggest assets.
Ravi Kishan as Adhoora leaves a strong impression with his entertaining screen presence, while Sanjay Mishra as Johnny adds several laugh-out-loud moments through his effortless humour.
Upendra Limaye, Anjali Anand, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Esha Gupta, and Vijay Patkar contribute effectively to the ensemble, while Akshara Padwal and Riyansh Dabhi provide solid support in their respective roles.
Conclusion
Dhamaal 4 embraces the franchise’s signature blend of slapstick comedy, outrageous situations, and loveable chaos to deliver a thoroughly enjoyable family entertainer. With a cast that shares excellent comic chemistry and enough laugh-out-loud moments to keep audiences engaged, the film successfully honours the legacy of the Dhamaal franchise.
