Bank chor box office

Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi-starrer ‘Bank Chor’ had a unique promotional strategy, wherein they trolled themselves and their movie relentlessly. It certainly evoked curiosity about the film, and since we all are aware of the perfect comic timing that both Riteish and Vivek possess, we were sure that the movie will be laugh riot, if nothing much. And yes, we weren’t disappointed, as we were treated to some surprises as well. However, the same cannot be said of others, as the Bank Chors could not steal good numbers on the first day of movie’s release.

On its first day ‘Bank Chor’ managed a meager Rs 1.40-1.50 crore approximately, with Mumbai contributing around Rs 50-60 lakh. This is even lower than Riteish’s last solo movie ‘Banjo’.

Well, will the movie do well in coming weekend or pick up because of word of mouth? Only time will tell.

Amongst other movies, ‘Hindi Medium’ picked up Rs 45 lakh on its fifth Friday, taking the total collection up to Rs 60 crore.

Talking about last week’s release ‘Raabta’, the movie has had a dismal run. It collected merely Rs 20-25 lakh on its eighth day, and doesn’t look like it is going to pick up now.

Next week, Salman Khan-starrer ‘Tubelight’ will be hitting the theatres. Let’s see if any of these movies can garner some more moolah in their kitties before that.
