How Shraddha, and not Sonakshi, came to be Apoorva Lakhia’s Haseena Parkar

Finally! The trailer of Shraddha Kapoor-starrer ‘Haseena Parkar’ is out and as expected it has completely blown us away. The intriguing performance by Shraddha who plays the titular role is nothing less than a big surprise for her fans. However, Shraddha wasn’t the first choice for this coveted role. It is hard to believe that, especially after seeing her in the trailer as the ferocious Aapa aka Haseena Parker. But yes, this is the truth. Director Apoorva Lakhia had approached actress Sonakshi Sinha before Shraddha to play this role of mafia queen of Mumbai and the actress had almost signed the movie. But, she ultimately couldn’t play this role.

It was during the trailer launch event of the film when filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia opened up on this and said that they had approached Sonakshi, but ‘Haseena Parkar’ was getting delayed due to the actress’ date issues, due to her that were with her film ‘Force 2’. Further, Apoorva Lakhia stated that he had a chat with Sonakshi and decided that since things were not working out, they should let go of her. His next choice was Shraddha Kapoor.

Later, when Shraddha was asked by the reporters on the movie being offered to Sonakshi before her, the actress replied by saying that she doesn’t get into these things and was just happy about the fact that she bagged the movie.

Seems like it was written in Shraddha’s destiny to portray this role. And we are glad that she did, after watching the trailer.

Talking about ‘Haseena Parkar’, the film also stars Siddhanth Kapoor and Ankur Bhatia playing pivotal roles. The film is slated to hit the screens on August 18, 2017.
