‘Veere Di Wedding’ delayed because Kareena Kapoor Khan couldn’t get a pregnancy insurance

Rhea Kapoor’s upcoming production venture ‘Veere Di Wedding‘ was in news for its delay. In a recent interview, Sonam Kapoor recently revealed that they were not receiving the kind of financing they wanted for the film. She also pointed out how the society is biased towards women while revealing that it was one of the reasons for the delay.

How, you ask? Well, here’s the answer. Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is expecting a baby, will be shooting for portions of the film. But she could not get a pregnancy insurance. In another interview to a magazine, Sonam said, “That was the original plan, but we couldn’t get insurance for Kareena. India is the only country in the world that doesn’t insure pregnant women.”

The team of ‘Veere Di Wedding’ will start shooting in April. The film is a story of four girls who are at different stages of their love lives.
