Rishab Shetty reveals Kantara is ‘actually part 2’ as he CONFIRMS the prequel

Actor Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara completely surprised the box office as it set the cash registers on fire. Having just been made with a budget of 16 Cr, the film booked a phenomenal run at the box office and went on to collect a huge figure of Rs 450 crores. With its amazing story, Kantara emerged as an outbreaking blockbuster of 2022 and set examples of its success becoming the biggest film of the year. With the mega success, Kantara will now have part 2.

Earlier, rumours were rife about its sequel, rising the excitement of the audience to the next level. With the phenomenal success the film achieved, the audience has been waiting to hear about the announcement of its sequel. Well, the wait is over as Rishab has finally announced that Kantara will have part 2 but there’s a catch.

Rishab Shetty says Kantara 2 will be a prequel:

As Kantara completed 100 days, to mark this remarkable milestone in the journey of the film, the team called for a celebration. On the occasion, the writer, actor, and director of the film, Rishab Shetty revealed that Kantara 2 will be a prequel.

Rishab said, “We are very pleased and thankful to the audience who had shown immense love and support to Kantara and taking the journey ahead, with the blessing of almighty Daiva the film has successfully completed 100 days and I would like to take this opportunity to announce the prequel of Kantara. What you have seen is actually Part 2, Part 1 will come next year. The idea has been flashed into my mind while I was shooting for Kantara because the history of Kantara has more depth to it, and currently, if the writing part is concerned we are in the middle of digging into more details. As the research is still progressing, it would be very early to reveal details about the film.”

The producer, Vijay Kiragandur added that Rishab and their team have been working on the story rigorously while opening the back story of Kantara. They even promised the prequel of Kantara is going to be more massive and grand than before.
