After Kuwait, Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast is now reportedly banned in Qatar. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Beast is all set to hit the theatres on April 13. Beast is a hostage thriller and the reasons could be the violent content, and a plotline involving terrorists. In the trailer of Beast, we see terrorists hijacking a mall and taking the people hostages. It shows terror attacks and some scenes apparently talk about Islamic terrorism. Vijay is playing RAW officer Veera Raghavan.

Beast also stars Pooja Hegde, Selvaraghavan, Shine Tom Chacko and Yogi Babu in key roles. The film is produced by Sun Pictures on a massive scale. It is one of the much-awaited movies of the year and has been creating a lot of hype since its announcement. The film’s trailer has also received an overwhelming response.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala confirmed this news on his Twitter, and tweeted, “After #Kwait, #Beast is banned in Qatar too… Recent Tamil movie #FIR was banned in both the countries too…”

Bala told DNA that the government of these countries seem to be unhappy with the terrorism angle, and it conflicts with their sentiments.

He said, “They (the government) are not happy with the terrorist group’s angle and its portrayal.” He added, “In both movies, FIR and Beast, the main villain and his gang happened to be from an Islamic terrorist gang, and these film also touches upon the topic of (extremist groups like) Al-Qaeda, ISIS… so this is the understanding from these two countries.”
