Deepika Singh, best known as Sandhya Rathi from Diya Aur Baati Hum, recently grabbed immense attention for her social media posts. But, not for all the good reasons. She received a lot of backlash from netizens after she danced in open rains amid Cyclone Tauktae. Yes, Deepika Singh shared posts of dancing amid the rains as Cyclone Tauktae hit Maharashtra recently.

While she spread positivity with her captions, her actions did not go down well with the netizens. Social media users trolled her and called her ‘insensitive.’ Now, Deepika Singh has finally broken her silence on being slammed for her posts during the Cyclone Tauktae in Mumbai. In a chat with the Times of India, Deepika revealed that she did not mean to be insensitive and is upset for all the people who got affected by the Cyclone.

Ask her the reason behind her photos and video, Deepika shared that she lives in an apartment which is on the ground floor. She shared that they had planted the tree years ago outside her house, but it, unfortunately, fell during the cyclone. The actress said that the tree fell on their car. So, she along with her husband Rohit stepped out to move the car.

“During that time my husband thought of clicking a few pictures. It was just something we did spontaneously,” she said. Deepika went on to add that she is sad for everyone who was affected during the cyclone. “I didn’t mean to be insensitive by posing near an uprooted tree. I would not encourage anyone to do something like that,” she said.

Opening about dealing with the COVID 19 crisis since the past year, Deepika shared that it’s been terrible for all. “The entire year, I have hardly stepped out and these pictures were just taken to make a memory of how we managed to save our car and remove the tree,” she concluded.
