One of India’s most loved TV shows, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, is finally making a comeback. The original show, which aired from 2000 to 2008, made Smriti Irani a household name as Tulsi. It became a classic in Indian television history. Now, after nearly 17 years, the reboot titled Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 is premiering tonight, July 29, 2025, at 10:30 PM on Star Plus. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Returns After 17 Years

The return of the show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has sparked excitement online, but it has also led to comparisons with another popular series, Anupamaa, which stars Rupali Ganguly. Some people on social media have claimed that Anupamaa may lose its top spot due to the return of Kyunki.

Producer Ektaa Kapoor responded to this during an interview with Brut. She called the comparisons unfair. “I saw some videos saying Anupamaa has a problem with Kyunki coming back. That was in bad taste,” she said.

Ektaa praised Anupamaa and her team. She said, “Rupali is a big star. Rajan Shahi and the show have done something no one else could in the last seven years. They will stay at number one.”

She added that there’s no need to compare the shows or their female leads. “Pitting women or content against each other is not right,” she said.
