Medical dramas like Sanjivani and Dill Mill Gaye are still etched in our memories. But, Sanjivani 2 failed to create the same magic as these previous shows created. Though Sanjivani 2 featured some of the known faces of television like Surbhi Chandna, Namit Khanna in lead roles, it fell flat. Mohnish Bahl and Gurdip Punjj were also part of the show. The show premiered in 2019 and went off-air on March 13, 2020.

Gurdip Punjj who was part of both instalments of Sanjivani is upset with the failure of the second instalment. We recently had a telephonic interview with Gurdip for the upcoming show Humkadam. Apart from her show, we also asked her about the failure of Sanjivani 2. To which she said, “When Sanjivani 2 didn’t work, of course, it affected me a lot. Sanjivani was a very important part of my career and the second part was also as important as the previous one. Every show has its own time and the essence and the storyline depend on the team. Though Dr. Shashank and Juhi’s characters were part of the Season 2, that doesn’t mean the story will work. The entire package takes the story forward. In the previous season, the package was complementing each other. Though the makers added old faces they failed to create the same magic. It happens most of the times. It’s actually a team effort.”

We have always seen Gurdip doing content-driven shows. “I have always been offered good work. Most of the producers say that they were thinking to cast me after hearing the story. This always encourages me that people want me to be part of their story. All my roles are good and my makers completely trust me with good roles,” she said. Gurdip wants to do strong characters and platforms don’t matter to her.
