Sidharth Malhotra starrer Shershaah’s trailer where the actor played Captain Vikram Batra, the martyr of Kargil war in 1999, has got a huge warm response from the audience. While Sidharth played the war hero Captain Vikram Batra in Vishnu Vardhan’s upcoming film Shershaah, Abhishek Bachchan also played the Kargil war hero in JP Dutta’s LOC: Kargil. After watching the recently released trailer of Shershaah, fans took to social media and expressed their opinions on who has portrayed Vikram Batra better! The trailer was unveiled on Sunday on the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

A Twitter user wrote, “#ShershaahTrailer is awsm. No offense to Siddharth malhotra (awsm actor did a good job ) but I think @juniorbachchan played Capt. Vikram batra (pvc) way better in #LocKargil movie. (Was more energetic especially in that dialogue – ye Dil mange more, Durga Mata ki jai).” Another user tweeted, “Just watched #ShershaahTrailer starring @SidMalhotra but wanna tell everyone that No one can match effort/energy putten by @juniorbachchan in 2003 LOC:Kargil movie. He is the one and only reel life Vikram Batra. Always gives goosebumps while seeing and listening his dialogue.” To him too, Abhishek replied with the same emoji. Abhishek Bachchan took to Twitter and responded to the above tweets with folded hands.

Abhishek’s performance as Param Vir Chakra awardee Captain Vikram Batra in LOC: Kargil, which was released in 2003, was highly appreciated. The film also starred Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt and others.

This is Sidharth’s dream project, his close friends are aware of how much work he has put into this film. While revealing the trailer with his fans on social media he wrote an emotional note, “My passion project, my most special film is finally going to be out for you to see It felt really emotional to bring out the trailer to the Indian Army on this historic day.” 

Isn’t it too early to decide on who played the role better, the film Shershaah has not even been released yet? Let’s wait until we have all watched it to decide. Meanwhile, on the work front, Abhishek will next be seen in ‘Bob Biswas’ where he will be essaying the popular character from Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Kahaani’ that starred Vidya Balan in the lead role. The upcoming film will also star Chitrangada Singh in the lead role.

Shershaah will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video on August 12, three days before Independence Day.
