Amitabh Bachchan is one of the most successful and biggest superstars in Indian cinema. Living to that title, he is also one of the richest man out there. And while he has almost everything that money can buy at his disposal today, his plans for his first salary will truly make you go ‘awww’.
Amitabh Bachchan reveals his plans for debut film’s salary
During a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 15, a contestant asked Big B about the time he got his first film, Saat Hindustani. Responding to that, Bachchan revealed how he planned to spend his salary from that film. He said, “Humko ye laga ki isase hume jo bhi milega, wo hum apne ma-babuji ko de dein. (I felt whatever I earn from this, I should give it to my parents).”
The megastar went on to add, “Mujhe ek zariya mil gaya ki apne ma-babuji ko bula kar apne paas rakhein. Jo zimmedari unhone humare liye jeevan bhar kiya hai us zimmedari ko hum apne kandho par rakh kar aage unke liye kar ke dein. (I found a way to ensure that my parents shift and live with me. The responsibilities that they fulfilled all these years for us, I wanted to shift them to my shoulders and fulfil them going forward).” Big B’s parents were the renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and social activist Teji Bachchan.
Amitabh Bachchan’s debut film
Big B made his acting debut with the 1969 action film Saat Hindustani. It told the story of 7 Indians who attempted to liberate Goa from the Portuguese colonial rule. Reportedly, director Khwaja Ahmad Abbas gave the role to Bachchan only after talking to his father. He wanted to make sure that Harivansh ji supported his son’s dreams. And today that man is arguably the biggest star of Indian cinema.
Even today, Big B is busy as a bee professionally. Currently, he is working on the ongoing season of KBC 15. Post that, he will be seen with Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon in Ganapath. He also has Kalki 2898 AD with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, and the courtroom drama Section 84.
